important notes- turn on the v sync for stable frame rate. light shafts don't work with no anti aliasing or FXAA.and lock fps to 34fps so you won't get any dips or stutters.i tried different settings but cant get stable 40fps. you could get about 2.30 - 3 hours on oled model.no tdp limit. shadows quality only changes the resolution of the shadows even at low it looks sharp .

The game opens a launcher by default. Follow instructions on PC Gaming Wiki to disable this, and ensure it falls back to DirectX 11. For me, DX12 seems to lock the game under 30fps and I can do nothing to get it to 40.

You can also change the HUD scaling so it lines up for 16:10 using the steps on PCGW.

In the game's Steam properties, set launch options to:
MANGOHUD=1 MANGOHUD_CONFIG="fps_limit=40,no_display" %command%

In the in-game settings (settings from Santiago Santiago), display tab:
  • Fullscreen
  • Vsync off
  • 1280x800
  • No frame limit
Graphics tab:
  • Anti-aliasing on TAAU, sharpening on low
  • Screen Space Ambient Occlusion on SSAO
  • Screen Space Reflections on High
  • The next block is personal preference; I keep everything on except Chromatic Abberration, Vignetting and Camera Lens Effects
  • NVIDIA HairWorks disabled
  • The next block has everything on medium, except:
    • Grass Density on Low
    • Texture Quality on High
Super stable at 40fps; just reached Novigrad and is staying consistent so far. Previously aimed for 45fps with these settings, but the forest and bog areas often dropped to 40fps.

Disable QAM frame rate and allow tearing to reduce input lag - important at 40fps.
