Note
After installing the game, go into Desktop Mode. Run ProtonTricks, select your prefix for Splinter Cell Conviction, select the default prefix, choose "Install a Windows DLL or component," and install vcrun6sp6. Exit ProtonTricks.
Next, download this mod and unzip it. Open steam, right click on Splinter Cell Conviction, and select Properties. Under the "Installed Files" tab, click "Browse" to open the folder of the game's files. Drag the "src" folder from the extracted mod folder into the game's folder. Allow it to overwrite the files within.
Switch back to Game Mode, find the game, select the gear icon and go to Properties. Under the General tab, type the following into your launch options:
Under the Compatibility tab, I recommend switching to Proton-GE. If you don't use that, then the latest Proton or Experimental should work.
Now launch the game and use the touch screen to go into the Settings menu. Under Control Options, select "Use Controller." The Deck's controls should work now. Go back to Settings and select Video Settings. Set the resolution to 1200x800, refresh rate to 60 Hz, and then go into Advanced Options. set everything to the highest and enable all options except Vertical Sync, which you can leave off. Hit Apply.
Finally, open GameScope and set your Framelimit to 60FPS/60Hz. Enable the Manual GPU Clock and set it to 1600 MHz.
You are now done! Exit the menu and enjoy this kick-ass, classic game at 60 FPS and max settings on your Deck.
Note: I use CryoUtilities 2.0 @ recommended settings, have my UMA Frame Buffer Size set to 4 GB, and undervolt with -20 mV for all offsets. This broadly improves performance and stability, and it can sometimes even allow for pushing higher graphics settings. You probably don't need these changes for this title, but I wanted to disclose this just in case it is benefiting my performance.
